I cannot say enough about Bjorni (BG) and the experiences provided. My son and I spent a week with one other couple making this a perfect small group excursion. We didn’t take part on a trip with Thor travel but encountered Bjarni in one of our last nights in Iceland while traveling around the island. Without a second thought Bjarni offered himself to take a couple of beautiful fotos of the Aurora and us! The fotos were amazing and the talk with Bjarni was really entertaining. We don’t have any doubts that the service provided by Bjarni and Thor Travel must be outstanding and for sure will be contacting him on our next visit to Iceland, because for sure we are coming back! The small-group tour was offered by Iceland Travel, but Bjarni and Thor Travel provided our vehicle and all on-the-ground services. Bjarni was our tour guide. Bjarni was as good a tour guide as anyone would ever want. He is well-organized and extremely knowledgeable regarding Icelandic geology, history, and culture. On a personal level, he’s a terrific guy: friendly, entertaining, and always accommodating. His pride in Iceland is evident, but never overbearing. I know that the six persons I traveled with join me in recommending Bjarni Gaukur and Thor Travel. This is the last day of my Iceland Complete Tour and Bjarni Gauker Thormundsson was the best tour guide ever. Hands down!! I can’t say enough good things about Bjarni Gaukur (BG) and our tour. I was part of an eleven person group that did an eight day tour around Iceland. BG was our tour guide and driver, and all around expert on any questions that we had. He was an excellent and safe driver ensuring breaks to stretch, use facilities, and/or get a coffee or snack. The bus was comfortable and he broke up all the driving by answering questions or telling us history about what we were seeing. He allowed plenty of time at each stop and we never felt rushed. Most importantly though BG is smart, kind, and funny. He went out of his way to ensure that everyone got the most out of the tour and really connected with each person in the group. Most impressive was his organization. Every evening we would get the itinerary for the following day and weather forecast. He’d also review all of the stops we’d made that day and include a map of where we had traveled. Iceland is a beautiful country with a rich history, BG enhanced all parts of the trip with his knowledge and stories.
