How does the pickup work in the northern most capital in the world?
Most of the downtown in Reykjavik area is closed off for coaches to pick up passengers by the city council and they created a bus stop system for the hotels and guesthouses. More information from the city is available on https://busstop.is/. Do not worry because when you book a tour with us you will find your hotel and there it will state what bus stop you should go to. For example, if you are staying at 101 Hotel then you select “101 Hotel go to Bus Stop 6 (The Culture House)” in the pickup list and there you can see that you are supposed to go to “Bus Stop 6” and the name of that stop is “The Culture House”. If you are staying at Hilton, then you select “Hilton Reykjavík Nordica pickup is outside hotel” and you can see the pickup is outside the hotel. All the front desks are very helpful with the pickup system and if you are not sure just drop us a line with email to info@thortravel.is .

Thor Travel starts the pickup 30 minutes before the start of the tour. For example, if your tour starts at 08:00 then the pickup starts at 07:30 and can be anytime during those 30 minutes. We try to start the pickup in the west of Reykjavik and work our way east to limit the time for the pickup. Then after the tour we drop you off back where we picked you up unless you want different drop off then you just talk to the guide.
