At Thor Travel, we don’t follow a fixed route — we follow the sky.
With experience from 400+ Northern Lights tours, we monitor weather forecasts, cloud cover and aurora activity throughout the day, then choose our destination based on where we believe the best viewing conditions will be that night.
Our one-departure-per-night approach means we don’t split guests across multiple buses or departures. Everyone travels together with the same local Icelandic guide, allowing us to focus entirely on one group and one mission: finding the best possible Northern Lights conditions for our guests.
We leave Reykjavík behind, stay flexible and go where the sky gives us the best opportunity.

Photos While the Experience Is Still Fresh
Another thing many guests really appreciate is how quickly they receive their photos.
I upload them as soon as I get home after the tour, even when that means late at night. If guests send me their email address before the tour ends, their photos are usually waiting for them in Dropbox by the next morning.
While many operators allow 24–48 hours or longer for photo delivery, I prefer to get them to my guests as quickly as possible — while the experience and excitement of seeing the Northern Lights are still fresh in their minds.
